Have You Heard, today (11/13) marks the 75th anniversary of the Disney animated film “Fantasia.”
While many movie experts give the film rave reviews, it was not considered a huge success in 1940.
The film’s high cost ($2.3 million in 1940; $39.1 million in 2015) and other factors, such as the war in Europe, made it hard for the movie to make money.
However, over time, that’s changed.
The film has now grossed in the area of $80 million in the U.S., making it one of the top 25 money-making films of all time in this country, when adjusted for inflation.
The Beatles’ animated film “Yellow Submarine” was released in the U.S. 47 years ago today.
It was the Beatles’ third film but, outside of the soundtrack, the Fab Four had relatively little involvement in the movie.
For the most part, voice actors voiced the Beatles’ lines.
