Have You Heard, today (11/15) is “America Recycles Day.”

Today also marks the 50th anniversary of when Walt Disney officially announced he planned to build a bigger and better Disneyland in Florida.
Disney, who won 22 Academy Awards (plus 4 honorary Oscars) and 7 Emmys, never got to see Walt Disney World become a reality.
Disney died little over a year after his 1965 announcement.
Disney World opened in 1971.

Kenny Rogers has had 21 number-one country hits but only two on the pop charts.
The first of those two was “Lady,” and it hit number-one 35 years ago today.

President Franklin Roosevelt laid the cornerstone of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington 76 years ago today (11/15/1939).

Actor Ed Asner was 10 years old that day. He is 86 today.
No male actor has won as many Emmys than Asner. He has 7.

Clemson head basketball coach Brad Brownell is 47 today.

Richard Petty drove the final race of his career 23 years ago today.

Today is also “Raisin Bran Cereal Day” and “Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day.”
