GREENVILLE, SC — Platinum Plus, an adult entertainment venue in Greenville, has reopened this weekend according to their Facebook page.
The club will no longer feature topless dancers and contact between dancers and patrons is not allowed according to the settlement between the club and the solicitor.
A Greenville judge signed a $66,500 settlement and forced big pay outs to Greenville County, as well as increased monitoring within the club, but it’s also requiring a $10,000 donation to an Upstate non-profit devoted to ending human trafficking.
The lawsuit followed 20 arrests after a nearly year-long undercover prostitution investigation there by Greenville County Sheriff’s Office agents. Of the 20 arrests, 15 were of “dancers.”
In a joint press conference in May, with 13th Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins, Greenville County Sheriff Steve Loftis called Platinum Plus a “public brothel.”
The company that owns the strip club, Elephant, Inc., will pay Greenville County $50,000 to defray the cost of bringing the lawsuit.
The settlement also requires the company to ensure there is video surveillance in all areas of Platinum Plus where dancers interact with customers, including the Champagne Room and the Couch Room.
Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the solicitor’s office will have full access to that video at any time.
Elephant, Inc. will also pay $6,500 for an independent “Monitor” appointed by the solicitor, who would visit the club up to 20 hours a month for one year to make sure there are no violations.
According to their Facebook page they are now hiring for all positions.
