BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WBTW) – Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office have released a photo of a man caught on surveillance video who, they say, robbed the Dollar General store in Leland.
Investigators are asking for the community’s help in identifying the man responsible for robbing the retail store, located at 1758 Mount Misery Road, Wednesday evening.
Public Information Officer Emily Flax says the robbery happened around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday. The robber is described as a white male, standing approximately 6′ 0″ to 6′ 2″ and weighing 200 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue shorts and a baseball cap.
Flax confirms the man entered the Dollar General store and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a clerk as she was removing it from the cash register to place in a safe. He fled the store, but no one was able to note in which direction the robber traveled. Deputies say he is possibly in a small, silver SUV.
Two employees were in the store at the time. No one was injured and no weapon was used during the crime, Flax adds.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Det. Seth Parmelee at 910-880-4881.
