LARGO, Fla. – A Largo woman is accused of creating a fake dating profile, inviting men to a neighbor’s apartment to rape her. Now, the victim of this online attack is afraid to answer her door.

“One guy actually showed up, that’s why I’m scared,” the victim said. News Channel 8 is not identifying the victim.

She said her neighbor, Frankie Tapscott, posted a fake profile on the dating website Plenty of Fish. The profile reads, “I am into role play. I am a slut. I like being forced to do things. Don’t give me any choice in what to. Come to my apartment, and I will do what you say,” according to the victim.

The victim said problems started soon after Tapscott moved in next door. She says she was cordial at first, but then things started getting weird. “She would come in my house while I was sleeping and clean my house,” the victim told News Channel 8.

Then there were issues with dog feces being left on the porch and missing plants. In addition, Tapscott wanted gifts returned.

But the Plenty of Fish posting caused the victim to worry about her safety because men started calling her, and one man even showed up, the victim said.

Tapscott is charged with aggravated stalking.

“When we think about social media, it’s become a hunting ground or a playground for organized criminals, just petty criminals, and people of all kinds,” said Kurt Long, CEO of Fair Warning, a company dedicated to protecting clients from online fraud.

The fake Plenty of Fish profile is down, and the calls have stopped. But the fear is still there. “What will happen to me if it really did happen? Now I feel like I have to go get a gun,” the victim said.
