North Carolina Schools Could Get Tutoring Money

RALEIGH, NC (AP) – North Carolina public schools could be getting new money to tutor children who haven’t shown they can read at a third-grade level.
The State Board of Education will consider today allocating $1.7 million for tutors to help about 400 students around the state who have twice failed to advance to fourth grade.
