PIEDMONT, S.C. — South Carolina resident 19-year-old Kaitlyn Jackson won $1 million in Old Navy’s Overnight Millionaire sweepstakes.
The teen mom plans to set up a savings account for her toddler daughter and help rebuild part of her local church with the winnings.
In the sweepstakes, the first 50 shoppers at every Old Navy store in North America were entered into the sweepstakes.
Old Navy says Jackson, of Piedmont, SC, was one of the last people in line at the store in the Plaza at Greenville Mall on Thursday afternoon to receive a game card.
She found out Friday that she had won.
“Swear to God? Oh my gosh,” Kaitlyn said on the phone call that told her of the big win.
“Is this going to change your life?” the Old Navy caller asked.
“Yes! Oh my gosh!” Kaitlyn said.
According to Old Navy, Kaitlyn has a two-year-old daughter and currently lives with her mother and her boyfriend.
There will be a formal check presentation Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the store where she won.
“Kaitlyn has devoted herself to raising her young daughter who will turn three the day after Christmas,” according to a press release.
“She will now be able to help with her mother’s car payments, set-up a savings account for her toddler daughter and help rebuild part of her local church thanks to Old Navy.”
