Ocean Blvd. reopens in North Myrtle Beach after fire doused

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A portion of Ocean Boulevard was closed to traffic in North Myrtle Beach Tuesday afternoon as emergency crews worked to extinguish a fire at a hotel.

According to the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety, Ocean Boulevard and Spring Street from 21st Avenue North to ShoreHaven Drive were closed to drivers for just under an hour.

North Myrtle Beach spokesperson Pat Dowling says the fire involved one room at the Blockade Runner at 1910 N Ocean Blvd. No injuries were reported with the blaze.

As of 2:15 p.m. Tuesday drivers are asked to avoid the areas. An estimated time when the streets will be reopened to the public has not been given.
