MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A pregnant Myrtle Beach woman says she was punched in the stomach and threatened with a knife.

According to a Myrtle Beach police report, the incident happened around 1 p.m. Saturday near 21st Avenue North and Robert Grissom Boulevard.

The 30-year-old woman, who is 8 months pregnant, told police she was walking between Quail Marsh Apartments and Pelicans Stadium when a black male wearing a hoodie yelled for her to stop.

She said he then knocked her to the ground and attempted to remove her pants but was unable to.  She claimed the man also tried to cut her with a small pocket knife after punching her in the stomach twice.

The woman said she kicked the attacker in the groin and ran from the scene.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned, clean shaven black male in his late 30’s or early 40’s, about 6’3″ tall and weighed about 190 pounds.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and as of this posting, she and the unborn child are expected to be okay.
