FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – A November safety checkpoint in Marion County led to the arrest of three people and several citations for others for a variety of traffic violations.
The 12th Circuit Law Enforcement Network conducted a traffic safety checkpoint on November 13 beginning at approximately 8 p.m. in Marion County at Ariel’s Crossroads, Highway 41 at Highway 501. The checkpoint resulted in the following charges:
Child Restraint Violation 1
Open Container Violation 4
Driver’s License Violation 1
Driving Under Suspension 1
Vehicle License Violation 3
Possession of Alcohol by Minor 1
Possession of Marijuana 5
Other Violations 3
During the Operation, 171 vehicles were encountered. Three suspects were arrested.
The 12th Circuit Law Enforcement Network consists of all law enforcement agencies in Florence and Marion Counties, including state agencies and State Constables. 59 law enforcement officers participated in this operation.
The focus of the traffic safety checkpoints is the prevention of driving under the influence. For the fourth year in a row, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office is the host agency for LEN operations, which is sponsored through the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.
