Deputies have arrested a man after firefighters saw a woman screaming for help in a car parked at the Goodwill in Boiling Springs, Saturday afternoon.
31-year-old Joshua Wayne Abbott was arrested by Spartanburg County Deputies and charged with Kidnapping, and two counts of Assault and Battery for the incident.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the woman was giving Abbott a ride and that during the ride he “flipped out” and wouldn’t let her out of the car.
Firefighters told deputies that they heard a woman screaming for help and when they told Abbott to let her go he released her then bunched one firefighter in the arm before running.
According to the police report, another firefighter chased Abbott and held him until law enforcement arrived.
Abbott is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center on $14,000 bond.
