HORRY COUNTY, (WBTW) – Monday, the Horry County Board of Education discussed the possibility of adding to classroom sizes, and it appears board leaders are leaning against the idea.
News 13 reported last week board and district leaders were presented with alternative cuts that would equal more in savings than adding kids to the classroom.
These cuts would not affect students.
Monday, was the first time the whole board officially discussed adding students to the classrooms and it seems the possibility is becoming less and less likely.
“What i think is some board members want to put it to bed completely and say we’re not going to do it and end it. I’m not in favor of it and what i can see tonight and in discussing it with most of the board members they’re not in favor of it,” said Board Chairman Joe Defeo.
A final vote on whether or not to add kids to the classrooms will be made in January.
