MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach man is behind bars after a photo of the man smoking marijuana with a small child in the background was given to police, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report.
The Department of Social Services explained to Myrtle Beach Police that Marquise Rashad Chandler, 23, was drug tested after reports of child neglect were made against him. Chandler, as well as two children in his care, a 2-year-old girl and a boy, 3, all tested positive for marijuana when drug tested in September.
In addition to the drug test results, DSS also provided police with a picture of Chandler smoking “what appears to be a marijuana cigarette with the child in the background on the couch,” the report states. The children were placed in the care of the mother, the report adds.
Chandler was booked into the Myrtle Beach jail Thursday morning on two counts of child neglect.
