CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – A former Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been charged with misconduct in office after state officials say he reportedly paid a woman for sex while on duty.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division says David Rainwater, 42, who at the time was a certified law enforcement officer, engaged in “sexual acts with a female who was paid for said acts.” The arrest warrant for Rainwater details how the then deputy sheriff became sexually involved with the woman on several different occasions throughout Chesterfield County and was on duty each time.
The alleged sex acts took place from December 1, 2014 through August 25, 2015.
Rainwater is charged with one county of misconduct in office and was booked into the Chesterfield County Detention Center. According to online booking records, Rainwater was released from jail on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond.
