DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – A Darlington youth minister has been jailed on accusations he touched a young boy inappropriately on multiple occasions, according to the Darlington City Police.
Police Chief Daniel Watson confirms Kamron Eugene Reames, of Georgiana Lane in Darlington, was arrested Thursday on two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor.
The victim, whose age was not released, told an adult about Reames’ alleged actions and the Darlington Police Department initiated an investigation, Chief Watson explains. Chief Watson adds “compelling evidence supporting the complaint was substantiated,” leading to Reames’ arrest.
Reames is the Associate Pastor for Students at Central Baptist Church in Darlington, according to the church’s website. Reames’ bio on the worship center’s website states he has been with the church since September 2002 and is originally from the Midland Valley area in South Carolina. The online bio adds Reames’ “…love for Jesus and teens is evident through his words and actions.”
Reames is set to be arraigned Friday morning, Chief Watson adds.
