MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – A Marion man was arrested this weekend at the Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) after police said they found a loaded pistol in his carry-on bag.
According to an Horry County police report, Allan Querubin, 46, was arrested Sunday after the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) discovered a loaded .38 caliber handgun in his carry-on bag.
According to a press release, TSA immediately alerted airport police, who took possession of the bag and arrested Querubin on state charges.
Querubin is charged with Carrying of Concealed Weapon in Certain Restricted Place
The TSA says that while firearms may be transported in checked baggage (provided they are declared to the airline, in a proper carrying case and unloaded), they are prohibited in carry-on bags.
This is the fourth firearm discovered at the security checkpoint by TSA officers at MYR in 2015. A total of three were found at MYR in calendar year 2014.
