FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – As the clock winds down before Christmas, many people are worried about those last minute deliveries and whether or not they’ll make it by Christmas.
People filled post offices around the Pee Dee on Tuesday to check on their packages and to send off last minute gifts.
Kesha Moore was one those who waited in line for more than thirty minutes to send off a gift for her aunt and uncle in North Carolina.
“I hope they get it before Christmas, but I know they’ll be glad to have it,” said Moore.
The United States Postal Service says they can guarantee all packages will make it to their destination by Christmas as long as you use priority express shipping and send it off by 4:00 pm on Wednesday.
Aleysia Ellison says that’s why she’s not worried.
“It’s going to get there on time because last Friday I sent a package and it got there yesterday. It was supposed to be there on the 21st for my nieces and stuff in California, and it got there on time yesterday,” said Ellison.
The USPS says they’ve seen a 15% increase in package deliveries this holiday season, thanks to an increase in sales during Cyber Monday.
Still, Harry Spratlin with USPS says all mail carriers are on track and all deliveries will be on time.
Tomorrow is the last day to mail your packages with priority express shipping with a money back guarantee they will be here by Christmas.
Spratlin says USPS workers will be out making those deliveries on Christmas day.
There are certain areas that are not eligible for that money back guarantee with priority shipping. For a list of those areas, visit www.usps.com. There, you will also be able to use your credit card to purchase and print postage to mail your package. Spratlin says that’s the best way to avoid the long lines this holiday season.
