FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) – The man killed in a Fayetteville car crash was reportedly on his way to buy a gift for his daughter.
Media outlets report that Monday, 43-year-old Kgositsile Johnson was killed when his car collided with another in northwest Fayetteville. The other driver, 27-year-old Kateria Carlton Poe, had to be cut free from her car and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Johnson’s friend Roxanne Baucom says the father of two was on his way to buy a gift for his daughter, who celebrated her 21st birthday Monday.
Just over two weeks ago, Johnson’s wife, who had been in declining health, died at their home.
