MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Police responded to a disturbance call Saturday morning at Westwind Apartments near 13th Avenue South and Pridgen Road.
Lt. Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach Police says a man had threatened two people with a knife.
When officers arrived on the scene he also threatened them. Additional backup was called in, a perimeter was established and a search warrant was obtained.
SWAT, Horry County Fire Rescue and SLED responded as well.
Lt. Crosby says after authorities broke down the door the suspect was arrested without any incident. He was transported to the hospital for an unrelated treatment.
The situation is now secure and residents are allowed back in. A warrant will be released for the suspect soon. Lt. Crosby said they did not consider it a hostage situation.
