BOLIVIA, NC (WNCN) — The boyfriend and reported fiance of Brunswick County’s $188 million Powerball winner, Marie Holmes, was arrested again Tuesday.
According to jail records, Lamarr Andre McDow, 31, also known as “Hot Sauce,” was booked in the Brunswick County Detention Center around 4:30 p.m. He was given a $12 million bond.
According to reports, Holmes has used her lottery winnings to bail McDow out of jail in the past when he was held on $3 million bond.
According to Emily Flax, spokeswoman for the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, McDow was in violation of a pre-trial release agreement for previous heroin-related charges.
McDow was arrested twice in 2014 after authorities confiscated nearly 2,500 bags of heroin during two separate incidents. He was also arrested last weekend for helping to set up an illegal street race in Brunswick County, authorities said.
Holmes, 26, a single mother of four young children, snagged North Carolina’s biggest lottery jackpot in March and took a lump sum payment of $127 million from the Powerball win.
Just after Thanksgiving, Holmes donated $680,000 to “her home church,” Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Shallotte.
