HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW)- The National Weather Service in Wilmington, North Carolina has issued a Flood Warning for the Waccamaw River in Conway until further notice, according to a weather advisory.
The NWS reports at 10:15 am Saturday the stage was 10.8 feet and Flood stage is 11.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by after midnight tonight and continue to rise to near 11.1 feet by early Thursday morning.
Forecasters says water will begin to cause minor flooding of yards and a few roads in the Lees Landing, Pitch Landing, Savannah Bluff, and Riverfront South communities with overflow of vast uninhabited swamp and natural boat landings will occur.
