NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – North Myrtle Beach City Council passed the first reading of an amendment to its beach tent ordinance Monday evening.
The amendment would allow the use of so-called “baby tents” to shade children ages 18 months or younger. In addition, the alteration also sets size limits on the small tents.
The amendment must pass a second reading to become law, according to city spokesperson Pat Dowling.
Right now, North Myrtle Beach bans all tents on the beach between May 15 and September 15.
