MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach murder suspect has been arrested, more than a month after the crime.
Corey Bernard Holmes, 41, is charged with murder. He is in custody at J. Reuben Long Detention Center without a bond listed.
On September 11, Myrtle Beach Police named Holmes as a suspect in a murder case dating back to August 10. On that day, police received a call about a deadly shooting on Collins Street just before 9:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man dead in a field across the street from an apartment building, according to a police report. The report documents that it appeared the victim had been shot. Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler identified the deceased man as 23-year-old Dominick Goodwin, of Myrtle Beach.
Details of Holmes’s arrest were not available Thursday morning. However, records show he was taken into custody at the Myrtle Beach Police Department around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
Another suspect in the case, Christopher Columbus White III, 30, was arrested on August 13. He is charged with murder and obstructing justice.
On August 29, Damiean Lamont Cantey, 36, was also arrested in the case. He is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during commission of a violent crime
