HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Police are asking for the community’s help in locating a black Jeep Cherokee driven by a man attempting to lure young girls to his vehicle with promises of seeing a kitten.
According to Lt. Denis with HCPD, two 9-year-old girls reported being approached by an older white male as they were getting off their school bus Thursday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. Police say the incident occurred at Loop Circle in the Longs area of Horry County.
Officers report the black Jeep Cherokee has bobbleheads in the window and the man attempted to lure the young girls to his SUV with promises to show them a kitten. The man was startled by an adult in a nearby yard and drove away, police report.
The man is described as an older white male last seen wearing a gray / blue shirt, blue jeans and having a white beard. Police have been searching for the suspicious vehicle since the incident was reported but ask any community members that may have seen this vehicle to call police at 843-248-1520.
