FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Florence police are riding in style with the addition of 30 brand new vehicles.
The police department replaced many of their old patrol cars with the Ford interceptor that is specially designed for law enforcement. The vehicles better equip officers to communicate with dispatch and include a state of the art video system.
Twenty-four of the new vehicles are striped in blue with a new, modern look assigned to patrol officers. Six of those cars are unmarked for investigators.
Police Chief Alan Heidler says in addition you can also see these cars better at night.
The Florence Police Department was able to purchase the cars through a law enforcement program.
