FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW)-The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a crash involving a scooter and deer on Saturday night.
Troopers say it happened just before midnight near the Bethea Baptist Home in Darlington County.
Troopers say the passenger and driver on the scooter were both taken to McLeod Hospital.
The Highway Patrol says the passenger died from injuries in the crash today.
Coroner Todd Hardee identified the victim as Randall Simpson, 66, of Florence.
