CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County officials released the 911 call from the day a woman came out of a mall to find her mother shot to death in a car in the parking lot in early January.

On the tape, Shelly Wells is heard as she called 911 after she came back to her car the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 8, outside J.C. Penney in the parking lot of Myrtle Beach Mall to find her mother, 78-year-old Francis Davis, in a bloody mess and with no pulse.

“I can’t get her to wake up,” said Wells on the call. “She’s unresponsive. Blood is all over her.”

Wells quickly noticed that Davis had her cell phone in her hand and her purse was missing.  Deputy Coroner Tamra Willard later confirmed someone had shot and killed Davis.

“Oh my God! I was only in (the mall) 15 minutes!” screamed Wells on the tape. “Please hurry. Please!”

Medics rushed to the scene within several minutes of the call, as Wells apparently searched for anyone else in the parking lot to help.

“A nurse? Anybody? A nurse?” she is heard on the recording.

“I already lost my dad. I don’t want to lose my mom, too.”

““I keep thinking ‘I’m having a nightmare’ and ‘this didn’t happen,’” said Wells in a later interview with News13.

There are no suspects at this time, and ATF recently announced a $10,000 reward for information related to the shooting.
