MYRTLE BEACH (WBTW) — In what has become a highlight on the Grand Strand professional and social calendar each year, the sixth annual Coastal Carolina University Women’s Leadership Conference, put on by the school’s Women in Philanthropy and Leadership program drew more than 600 people to Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Thursday.

Organizers say they are pleased with the response and are happy to provide women a chance to learn more about leadership, hear from others about their experiences, and to fellowship.

Keynote speakers highlighted the schedule during the day, and Thursday night’s “Celebration of Inspiring Women” dinner will honor several local leaders.

“Many of these professional women are working really hard to succeed and be empowered to get to the top of their careers,” said WIPL Executive Director Terri DeCenzo. “I think it’s a great opportunity to for all of us to come together to say: ‘We can make it better. We can help each other, we can collaborate, we can do all these things to empower each other to succeed.'”

News13 is a sponsor of the conference this year, and anchors Patsy Kelly, Nicole Boone, and Meghan Miller all emceed throughout the event.
