MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach police are looking for at least two burglary suspects they say are armed with guns they stole from homes in Pine Lakes and the people who live there says they want the crime spree to end.
People who live in the Pine Lakes community say for months at least two people have been stealing from cars, or open garages, but last week it was taken to a new level.
“Breaking into two different people’s homes this past Thursday night; both friends of mine. One of them drawing a gun on one of the guys that came in,” said Grant Prescott who lives in Pine Lakes.
According to the Myrtle Beach police report, the suspect took off after the incident, but Prescott says his neighborhood is scared.
“Everybody wants to get their CWP {Concealed Weapons Permit} now and learn how to carry a gun, and use a gun,” said Prescott.
He says he’s been a victim of break-ins few times, most recently last Thursday. News 13 obtained video from Prescott’s house of two people walking out of his garage carrying guns Prescott says they stole from him.
He says he’d never expect this in the neighborhood he lives in.
“My wife and kids are here alone that’s kind of scary.
Police have not released any other information on the suspects other than the surveillance pictures.
Police says in a lot of the break-ins in Pine Lakes, doors were left unlocked.
