EFFINGHAM, SC (WBTW) – An Effingham man is charged with criminal sexual conduct on a minor after meeting the victim online, according to the South Carolina Attorney General’s office.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says Jarvis Quadry Dubose, 21, of Effingham, was jailed after being arrested on charges connected to sexual exploitation of a minor. The City of Florence Police Department, which is a member of the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, made the arrest.

Dubose met the victim through social media, according to a release from the Attorney General’s office, made arrangements to meet in person and then engaged in sexual activity with the minor.

Dubose was arrested Friday and is charged with one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, a felony offense punishable by up to twenty years in prison and Sex Offender Registry status. According to the Florence County Detention Center online booking records, Dubose was released from jail Sunday night on a $25,000 surety bond.
