MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina state troopers arrested a man who they say caused an accident involving a school bus Wednesday afternoon.
Cpl. Sonny Collins, spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol, says the accident happened at the intersection of Ebenezer Road and Hickory Grove Road.
Collins says a car ran a stop sign and hit a pick up truck. He says that caused the pick up truck to cross the center line of the road and strike a school bus. Investigators say the car that caused the crash left the scene.
Collins says Zachary Hunt, of Marlboro County, was arrested in connection to the accident. Hunt was charged with leaving the scene of a collision, driving under suspension and disregarding a stop sign.
The driver of the school bus was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, Collins said. No students were on board at the time of the accident.
