MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Police officers are looking for a person who reportedly fled the scene of a crash on Harrelson Boulevard and prompted police to search Coastal Grand Mall Wednesday evening.

Lt. Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach Police says officers were called to an accident on Harrelson Boulevard, near Coastal Grand Mall around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Officers received information that a person from that accident fled the scene on foot and ran into the mall.

Additional information was received that the person possibly had a gun, adds Lt. Crosby. Officers searched the mall, but were unable to locate the person. Lt. Crosby says information the department received leads them to believe the person fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing and the Coastal Grand Mall is open and operating as normal.

Anyone with information related to the crash or the person who fled the scene is asked to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department at 843-918-1300.
