FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – The Florence County Sheriff’s Office says a murder suspect has been identified in the January killing of a 24-year-old woman in Florence.
Deputies began investigating the apparent homicide Saturday, January 23, after the body of 24-year-old Sherilyn Jear Joseph was discovered inside a home on Century Drive around 11 p.m. that night.
Major Mike Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a call at 3618 Century Drive and discovered Joseph’s body inside the home.
On Thursday, Major Nunn announced arrest warrants were obtained for Royal Daniel Williams, III, 29, of Bennettsville, in Joseph’s death. Williams is charged with murder after shooting Joseph inside her apartment shortly after she returned home from work, adds Major Nunn.
Williams is currently jailed in a state corrections facility in another county after being sentence on unrelated charges.
