MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach man is behind bars after police say he stole nearly $100 worth of underwear from a department store in February.
An incident report from Myrtle Beach Police details how officers were called to Belk at the Coastal Grand Mall February 16 in

reference to a shoplifting that occurred one day prior. The employee showed the surveillance video to officers of a man, later identified by police as Jerry Lee Stovall, grabbing three packs of underwear and hiding them in a small cooler, the report states.
Stovall, 32, then left the department store without paying for the items, according to the report. The total price for the underwear is $94.50. Police were able to identify Stovall by using a previous booking photo.
At the time of the supposed shoplifting, Stovall was out on bond for a criminal sexual conduct third degree charge from August 2015. That charge is pending, according to the Horry County Public Index.
Stovall is charged with shoplifting less than $2,000.
