MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)- Myrtle Beach police officers responded to a stabbing incident on Cedar Street just before 1:00 on Saturday morning.
According to a police report, when officers arrived the suspect ran upstairs where one of the victim’s children were.
The police report says the second victim was already outside waiting for medics while officers worked to get the suspect down to the first floor to be detained.
Both victims told police that there was a verbal altercation that led to the suspect becoming agitated. One of the victim’s tried to calm the suspect down. Police say at this time, there was a physical altercation where the suspect bit the second victim’s face.
According to the report, the suspect then grabbed a large BBQ grilling fork and attempted to stab one of the victim’s with it.
Police say when the suspect went to stab the second victim, the other victim got in between the two. Police say the prong of the BBQ fork went completely through the woman’s hand while she tried to protect the other victim.
Reports say the second victim was stabbed near the spinal/neck area and was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Police say they arrested 39-year-old Dennis Jerome Parker and took him to Myrtle Beach jail.
