CALABASH, NC (WBTW) – Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in the home break-in and attack of a woman in a Calabash home.
Public Information Officer Emily Flax says deputies arrested Elliot Ward Dew, 28, of Whiteville, on charges of assault on a female, assault inflicting serious injury and first degree burglary. The warrant for Dew’s arrest details that he broke into the woman’s Calabash home the night of March 11, pushed the woman and threw her to the floor, causing the victim to sprain her wrist and suffer a concussion.
The warrant goes on to say Dew broke into the home with the intent to steal a gun.
Dew was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Facility Monday afternoon.
