WAGRAM, NC (WBTW) – A Scotland County man is in jail on accusations he murdered his wife after her body and vehicle were discovered in the Lumber River Monday morning.
According to Captain Mitch Johnson with the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old Maxwell Edward Revels turned himself in to deputies after the body of his wife, Tammy Phillips, 42, was found in the Lumber River in Wagram Monday. Phillips’ vehicle was also discovered in the river, adds Johnson.
Officials have not commented on a motive for the killing. Phillips cause of death has not been released.
