HARTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina Highway Patrol is searching for a driver who hit a bicyclist Monday evening on East Carolina Avenue in Hartsville and fled the scene.
Cpl. Collins say the bicyclist died.
Cpl. Sonny Collins says highway patrolmen responded to the crash on East Carolina Avenue, near Rolling Road, around 7 p.m. Monday night. Troopers are asking the community for help in finding the driver of a vehicle that hit a bicyclist and then left the scene of the crash.
There is no suspect vehicle description at this time, per Cpl. Collins, but troopers are hoping anyone who may have been traveling the road around the time of the crash may have seen something that could lead them to a suspect.
