LATTA, SC (WBTW) A passenger in a car has died after a different driver ran a stop sign and hit their vehicle Saturday night on SC 917.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol a 2005 Chrysler was traveling East on 917 outside of Latta when a 2006 Jeep traveling North on Secondary 151 ran a stop sign and crashed into the right side of the Chrysler.
SCHP says the passenger in the Chrysler was transported to McLeod Regional Medical Center where they died from injuries sustained in the crash. They were wearing their seat belt when the crash occurred.
Both drivers were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. SCHP says they were both wearing a seat belt as well.
The crash occurred around 10:05 p.m. and remains under investigation.
