LORIS, S.C. (WBTW)- Several Horry County Fire Departments responded to a house fire at a Loris home on Sunday afternoon.
Loris Fire Chief Jerry Hardee says the call came in just before 2:00pm. Hardee says when crews arrived there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the home off West Dogwood Road in Loris.
Hardee says a family of four lives inside the home but they were not home at the time of the fire.
The fire is under control but investigators will now head to the scene to determine the cause of the fire and where is started.
Th Red Cross is assisting the family that lost their home.
