CONWAY, SC – Luke Rankin announced today that he will seek re-election as the State Senator representing District 33 in Horry County.
“This is a big year with the nation focused on the presidential race,” said Rankin. “But there are also many pressing concerns right here at home that must be addressed with common-sense reforms. We are at a crossroads on so many important issues, from repairing our roads to implementing ethics reform.
“I hope I can continue the ongoing fight to make government more open, more honest and more responsive to our needs,” Rankin said.
Rankin says he has championed numerous reforms during his time as Horry County’s Senator, including; working with community and business leaders, he has a strong record of supporting and promoting local tourism efforts and working to grow the economy; helping to secure approval and protect funding for the construction of I-73, and playing an instrumental role in passing a plan to implement tax cuts for small businesses.
“There is no question infrastructure is one of the top issues facing us at both the local and state levels. Right now, my priority is to find a permanent solution to fix our crumbling roads and highways,” Rankin said.
