Chief Danny Watson with Darlington Police says a skimming device was placed on the ATM at First Citizens Bank located at 511 Pearl Street on March 5 from 3:14 p.m. until 7:40 p.m. Anyone who used this ATM during that time frame was likely a victim of the person who placed the skimmer on the machine. Chief Watson urges anyone who used the ATM to pay attention to account activity as the suspects may attempt to use your bank card information to make fraudulent purchases.
Employees with First Citizens Bank notified Darlington Police as soon as they learned that there was a problem with that ATM, Chief Watson notes.
Anyone who notices anything odd related to your banking account should contact the Darlington Police Department. Officers are attempting to identify and locate the man pictured above. Chief Watson says the suspect is believed to be involved in similar incidents in Darlington and neighboring counties.
Anyone who has any information about who this suspect might be or is a victim of this incident, please contact Lt. M. Valazak at 843-398-4026.
