DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – The suspected driver who fled from Darlington County deputies in March after they attempted to pull her over for an active warrant faces numerous charges, including involuntary manslaughter.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessica Nice, 24, of Hartsville, on Tuesday and charged her with strong armed robbery, petit larceny and criminal conspiracy relating to a robbery that occurred on March 20. She was also charged with failure to stop for a blue light resulting in death, two counts of failure to stop for a blue light resulting in great bodily harm and driving under suspension, confirms Sheriff Byrd.
According to Sheriff Byrd, these charges stemmed from Nice leading officers on a car chase on March 21 when they attempted to stop her on the active strong armed robbery warrant.
Nice was also charged by South Carolina Highway Patrol with reckless homicide with death resulting within three years and involuntary manslaughter, relating to the same incident.
Nice is currently being held on bond at the Darlington County Detention Center.
