FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Florence Police are looking for a purse thief and have released surveillance photos of the man running with the handbag in his arms.
Major Carlos Raines with the Florence Police Department says the armed robbery happened April 6 just before 6 p.m. in the
parking lot of the Rite-Aid Pharmacy on Irby and Pine Streets in Florence. The woman parked her car, and the man in the photos approached her with a box cutter and snatched her handbag, adds Major Raines.
A witness nearby ran after the thief, causing the robbery to throw down the purse, but only after stealing the woman’s wallet from within, reports Major Raines.
