‘Cyclovia Myrtle Beach’ event aims to promote physical activity

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The Pedestrian and Bicycle Committee is planning the next “Cyclovia Myrtle Beach” event for May 1st in The Market Common.

Myrtle Beach City officials say the event will take place Sunday, May 1, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., in The Market Common near Valor Memorial Garden. The event includes biking, walking, running, skateboarding, fitness classes, cross-fit demonstrations, dance classes, and a kids Bicycle Safety Rodeo.

Portions of Howard Avenue, Hackler Street, Johnson Avenue, Iris Street, Cook Circle and Hall Street will be closed to automobiles during “Cyclovia Myrtle Beach.” The goal of this event is to provide a community health experience and encourage physical activity.
