BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a school bus crash near Bennettsville Wednesday afternoon.
Cpl. Sonny Collins says troopers are investigating a crash involving a school bus that happened around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Beauty Spot Road and Johnakin Drive. The crash happened after the bus approached the stop sign at the intersection on Johnakin Drive, and then pulled out in front of a Marlboro Electric truck, Cpl. Collins adds.
The truck hit the bus, but fortunately no one was severely injured. Cpl. Collins says the bus driver was the only person involved who was take to the hospital to be evaluated.
The bus driver, who name has not been released, was found at fault for failure to yield the right of way, Cpl. Collins confirms.
