DILLON, SC (WBTW) – The Dillon County Sheriff’s office confirmed that a four hour manhunt ended Wednesday morning off of Highway 917 in Dillon County following a high speed chase.
Captain Cliff Arnette says that Highway Patrol troopers tried to stop the driver of a car for a traffic violation which resulted in a chase.
Troopers attempted to stop the driver on Buckswamp Road, but then the suspect fled the vehicle.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the search efforts by using their tracking dogs and helicopter.
Arnette says that deputies were unable to find the suspect, but will continue to patrol the area.
