SUMTER, SC (WBTW) – Sumter County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a burglar alarm at The Station located at 5480 Florence Hwy. in Mayesville just after 3 a.m. Tuesday and found that the store had been broken into.
The suspects drove up in a late-model white Ford F-250 crew cab pickup truck, attached a chain to the front security doors and used the truck to pull the doors away from the business, according to Public Information Officer Ken Bell.
Once inside, the men went to the ATM and realized it was open and empty. They then jumped the counter and stole an undetermined amount of Newport cigarettes and several music CDs.
The store’s security cameras were able to capture images of the incident.
Anyone with information should call the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at 803-436-2000 or 803-436-2718.
