MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The Myrtle Beach Police Department has arrested two suspects for two armed robberies that happened over the past week, says Lt. Joey Crosby.

Officers arrested Lauren Rochele Tucker, 21, and Jamaine Donnell Wilson, 43, for two separate incidents of armed robbery. The first incident occurred on April 23 when the duo attempted to rob a taxi driver near the Circle K at 1695 Hwy 501. The police report states the taxi driver was dropping off Tucker and Wilson in the Racepath area when Wilson acted as if he was reaching into his pocket for money to pay the cab fare, but pulled a gun from his waistband instead.

The taxi driver grabbed the gun and began wrestling with the suspected robber. The victim started honking the horn of the taxi to get the attention of the store clerk in the nearby gas station, but Tucker and Wilson jumped out of the taxi and ran away.

The second armed robbery happened the following day at Quail Marsh Apartments located at 21st. Ave North and Greens Blvd. Wilson reportedly knocked on the door of an apartment and when the resident opened the door, Wilson pushed his way in and demanded money, the report states. The resident handed Wilson his wallet, who then passed it on to Tucker who entered the apartment after Wilson shoved his way in.

Another occupant of the apartment came out of a bedroom and attempted to help the first victim. Wilson reportedly hit the second victim in the head with a gun, and when the second victim fought back, Wilson shot him in the head and neck with what appeared to be an automatic handgun, but was actually a BB gun, the police report states. The victims chased the two suspects out of the apartment and were able to retrieve their cash and give police a description of the suspects and their car.

Tucker is charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, assault, kidnapping and burglary. Wilson is charged with armed robbery, assault, kidnapping and burglary.
