MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes was an honorary fashion model Saturday night for the Compassion Through Fashion show.
His block ensemble was a tribute to an upcoming art exhibit at the Franklin G. Burroughs & Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum .
The fashion show was a fundraiser for New Directions, which works to move people out of poverty and homelessness.
25 local designers used recyclable materials to make their collections.
There was a silent auction and attendees could bid on their favorite designs.
It benefited the charity which serves as many as 250 homeless people every day.
